Manchester City begin title defence with an emphatic away win against Burnley

Manchester City began their title defence with an emphatic away win against Burnley.
Erling Haaland scored with his first kick of the game, volleying in Rodri’s back-post header, then doubled his and City’s tally before halftime with a rasping, curving drive that cannoned off the underside of the crossbar.
In the first half, Burnley’s man-to-man marking system thwarted City’s attempts to string long phases of passes together, winning the ball back with their pressing and creating chances for the lively front three of Lyle Foster and two debutants, Luca Koleosho, and Zeki Amdouni.
