Cristiano Ronaldo’s 75th-minute converted penalty was enough to take Al-Nassr to their debut final of the Arab Club Champions Cup after defeating Al-Shorta in the semi-finals on Thursday at the Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Stadium in Abha, Saudi Arabia.

Al Nassr was in command for the majority of the game, but it failed to capitalise on its advantage. The Saudi Pro League team thought it had grabbed the lead early in the first half when Ronaldo latched on to a through pass and tucked it past the goalkeeper, only for the referee to call it back for offside.

Al-Nassr opened with a strong lineup that included Ronaldo, new recruit Sadio Mane, Marcelo Brozovic, and left-back Alex Telles. Despite multiple attempts, the team was unable to break the deadlock thanks to some superb goalkeeping efforts by Ahmed Basil Fadhil Al Fadhli.

Ronaldo has four goals in four games for Al-Nassr in the King Salman Cup for Arab Clubs Championship. He has been the tournament’s leading scorer since the group stage began.
