D’Tigress head coach, Sam Vincent has been sacked by the Nigerian Basketball Federation (NBBF) on Thursday, August 2 in a letter signed by Ahmed Kida. The NBBF cited a couple of reasons why coach Vincent was relieved of his duties such as absence without permission and unprofessionalism. These are the details of the formal correspondence from the NBBF. “The NBBF has been monitoring the goings on in Atlanta closely and we are not satisfied with a lot of things, and some due to your engagement with us as Coach
It is noted that since the Camp opened on 19th July, you have spent only 5 days with the team out of the 14 days so far. In our opinion, you have clearly exhibited an unprofessional attitude towards your assignment and we do not believe that we can work with you anymore as the coach that can lead our National Team this way”
As such, be informed that you are hereby relieved of your appointment as our National Women`s Coach, to allow you concentrate better on your other activities, and allow us to regroup the willing members of our team in time for the World Cup”
