Nigeria’s D’Tigress continued their winning streak at the FIBA Women’s AfroBasket 2017 in Bamako, Mali by defeating Cote d’Ivoire 98 – 43 to advance to the semi-final of the competition. The Nigerian female Basketball team who had previously won their last five group games played with utmost dexterity and outclassed the Ivorians to ensure another win for themselves.
Nigeria will now be seen as the favourites to win the competition having defeated the likes of Mozambique, Egypt, Senegal and DR Congo without losing any game so far in the competition. Nigeria will face the winner of Mali vs Egypt quarter-final encounter in the semi-final. The AfroBasket Women’s Championship also serves as a qualifying tournament for the FIBA Women’s World Cup.
