Vettel absolved of blame after Azerbaijan GP collision

Ferrari driver, Sebastian Vettel will face no disciplinary action after colliding with Mercedes-Benz driver, Lewis Hamilton on June 25 in Baku at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. The Ferrari team principal, Maurizio Arrivabene and Vettel met with Formula 1’s governing body, the F1A to find a resolution on the said matter.

29-year old Vettel accused Lewis Hamilton of brake-testing to deliberately slow him down as they prepared for a restart behind a safety car. At the instance, Hamilton was cleared of any blames. During the post-race conference, he accused Vettel’s driving as “disgusting” and “not a sportsman conduct.”

During the F1A meeting on Monday, having gone through the race reviews, Sebastian Vettel accepted all responsibility. He extended his sincerest apologies to the governing body, F1A, the wider motorsports community and will commit a year to educationally related endeavours spanning across many F1A championships and events.
