Messi agrees new Barca deal until 2021

Soccer superstar, Lionel Messi has agreed to terms on a new contract with Barcelona that will keep him at the club till 2021. The deal will be formalised in the weeks to come become the commencement of pre-season training. Messi’s previous deal was set to expire in June 2018.

The Argentine striker joined Barcelona at the age of 13. There were surrounding rumours that he could leave Barcelona and head to the Premier League but the new deal has put an end to such insinuations. He’s the leading goal scorer in La Liga history with 349 goals and Barcelona record holder of 507 goals in 583 matches.

With pre-season set to commence on July 12, Lionel Messi would be playing the 2017/2018 season under a new coach, Ernesto Valverde.
