Oleksandr Usyk defeats Anthony Joshua in heavyweight bout via split decision

Oleksandr Usyk defeated Anthony Joshua to win the boxing heavyweight title rematch via split decision. The Ukrainian defended and unified his WBO, WBA, and IBF world heavyweight titles over a pulsating twelve-round bout.

Usyk won by a split decision at the King Abdullah Sports City Arena in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia garnering 116 – 112 and 115 – 113 respectively from the Ukrainian Viktor Feschko and Great Britain’s Steve Gray. Anthony Joshua scored 115 – 113 from the American judge, Glenn Feldman.

The Ukrainian defeated Anthony Joshua, the defending champion in London last year and with his second triumph over the Brit, he may set up a potential unification bout with Tyson Fury.
