Newcastle United have completed the signing of Alexander Isak for a club-record £63m fee from Real Sociedad. The Swede inked a long-term deal with the Magpies, understood to be six years.
He told the club’s official website, “I’m delighted to have it done. It was a big, big decision for me but it is a decision I am really happy with. It is a great, historical club that I think anyone would like to play for, with amazing fans. They were a big part of why I came here – and also the club’s project, which is one that I really believe in.”
The Newcastle United record signing is the fourth signing this summer after Matt Targett, Nick Pope, and Sven Botman arrived in this transfer window.
The 22-year-old started his career at Swedish club AIK before moving to Borussia Dortmund in 2017 aged 18, had a loan stint at the Dutch club, Willem II and finally moved to La Liga club, Real Sociedad in 2019 where he spent three seasons netting a total of 44 goals.
