Serge Aurier joins Tottenham Hotspur from PSG

Ivorian international, Serge Aurier has joined the English club, Tottenham Hotspur from PSG in a US$30 million deal. The transfer has been in doubt because a criminal conviction had delayed his work permit application. Aurier will be a natural replacement for Kyle Walker who left Tottenham Hotspurs for Manchester City in July.

“This is a huge and exciting opportunity at a massive football club and I am determined to prove myself,” Aurier, who was denied access to England last year when PSG played Arsenal in the Champions League, said on the Tottenham website. “This is a fresh start for me. I am determined to prove myself as a professional both on and off the pitch.”

The Ivorian began his career at French club Lens before moving to Toulouse in 2012. He signed for PSG in 2014 and the move became permanent in 2015. He played 81 times for PSG and won two League titles and three French Cups. He has played 40 times for Ivory Coast and also played at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
