Oxlade-Chamberlain joins Liverpool on transfer day deadline

After turning down a move to fellow London club, Chelsea due to positional disagreements – he insists he wants to play in the central midfield role and Chelsea insisting on playing him on the wings, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has accepted a move to Liverpool in a US$52 million deal. Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger has consistently reiterated his position in keeping the player but after the 4 – 0 loss to Liverpool at Anfield last weekend, fans were disappointed with his performance and the issue of his future with the Gunners became a trending topic.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has made more than 130 Premier League appearances for Arsenal since 2011. His versatility of either playing at the flanks or the central midfield is the reason Jurgen Klopp made the decision to bring him to Anfield. With this, he becomes Liverpool second most expensive signing after Guinean international, Naby Keita put signed to play for Liverpool. He will be arriving from RB Leipzig next season. With Oxlade Chamberlain’s move, Arsenal will be severely affected as Chilean international, Alexis Sanchez is on his way to Manchester City.
