Everton accept Man United bid for Lukaku

Manchester United is geared to sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton for US$97 million. He will have to finalise personal terms and undergo a medical examination before the transfer will be sealed. This would be the second time Lukaku will be a player under Mourinho’s leadership.

Jose Mourinho was Chelsea manager when Romelu Lukaku was sold to Everton in 2014 after he failed to establish first team place. Lukaku spent most of his stint on loan at West Bromwich Albion and Everton. In a weird twist of fate, Chelsea has been trying to re-sign the Belgian this summer to no avail.

The purposely built forward (6ft3) was the second highest goal scorer in the Premier League last season, scoring 25 goals in total and finished seventh on the table. Manchester United won the recently concluded Europa League and have qualified for next season’s UEFA Champions League and Lukaku has made his intentions known to Everton that he will like to play Champions League football.
