Sevilla won their sixth Europa title in Cologne last night as they defeated Inter Milan by 3 – 2. The Spanish club side went behind, took the lead, gave it away, before finally triumphing late in the second half.
Inter Milan opened the scoring through a well-placed penalty by Romelu Lukaku in the 5th minute. Luuk de Jong equalised in the 12th minute for Sevilla and added a second in the 33rd minute of the encounter.
Diego Godin equalised for Inter Milan in the 35th of the encounter and scores stood at 2 – 2 by halftime.
The winning goal in the 74th minute of the encounter was initiated by Sevilla defender, Diego Carlos through a nicely orchestrated bicycle kick that deflected off Romelu Lukaku and was awarded as an own goal.
