PSG wins the French League

Following the COVID-19 pandemic, Paris Saint Germain have been declared French Ligue 1 champions. The 2019/2020 season has been cancelled.

With lockdown measures in France set to be lifted in France on May 11, the Ligue de Football Professionnel has set out plans to restart the campaign in June.

The Paris-based football club retained their title despite being unable to complete their remain fixtures due to the COVID-19 crisis.

This decision has caused several Ligue 1 team awaiting their fates from the LFP, the French football body, regarding final positions.

PSG is leading the table with 12 points before the lockdown and has played one less match than second-placed Olympic Marseille.

With the present development, PSG, Marseilles and Rennes have qualified for the 2020/2021 Champions League.

Lille, Reims, and Nice have qualified for the 2020/2021 Europa League.

There will be no European football for Lyon next season as they currently stand seventh place on the Ligue 1 table.

This will be the first time since 1997 that Olympic Lyon will not participate in European football.
