Nigeria’s Super Falcons shrugged off their terrible start to the African Women’s Cup of Nations by defeating Zambia 4 – 0 in the second group match. Nigeria dominated much of the encounter, but the Shepolopo showed some resilience.
The first half ended with the Nigerian side having the advantage through a thorough pass by forward Asisat Oshoala and it was well-converted by Desire Oparanozie. The Nigerians scored three more goals in the second half through Francisca Ordega, Rashidat Ajibade, and Amarachi Okoronkwo.
In the first round of matches, Zambia defeated Equatorial Guinea 5 – 0 while Nigeria lost to the Bayana Bayana of South Africa 1 – 0.
