Barcelona debunks claim about Neymar’s transfer

Barcelona’s President, Josep Bartomeu has stated that Neymar is not on the market. The news report from Europe for some days has stated that the Brazilian star was going to accept a deal from PSG as soon as his transfer clause is triggered. The 25-year old playmaker contract at the Nou Camp is set to expire in the 2020/2021 season and the club has established the Brazilian is part of the trident playing along side Messi and Suarez.

Neymar’s deal includes a buyout clause that increases geometrically each year – US$230 million in its first year, US$253 million in its second year and US$288 million in its third year. Barca President also said, “these clauses are impossible to activate if you want to comply with the financial fair play. If someone doesn’t want to comply, then, of course, it can be activated.”
