John Terry captains Aston Villa in his first match

Former Chelsea skipper, John Terry is now the captain of Championship side, Aston Villa. He made his debut in a pre-season friendly against Shrewsbury at New Meadow. Terry didn’t score in the match but was the highlight of the entire encounter. Aston Villa lost 2 – 1 to Shrewsbury.

He signed a one-year contract with the Villans with a £2 million bonus if he takes the club back to the Premier League after being away for two years. He turned down an offer from Birmingham City to play for Aston Villa. Before the game, he was seen signing autographs and taking photographs with with the fans.
