Higuain off to an abysmal start as Bournemouth trash Chelsea
Bournemouth secured a memorable 4 – 0 win over Chelsea at the Vitality Stadium to knock the Blues out of the Premier League top four.
This is Chelsea’s second-worst defeat in the Premier League era after Liverpool trounced them at Anfield in 1996.
It was a good first half, but it was a second-half collapse of epic proportions. A brace from Joshua King, David Brooks and Charlie Daniels ensured that Chelsea suffered their third defeat in a row in all competitions.
Gonzalo Higuain had an abysmal start to the Premier League and was substituted after Bournemouth scored their second goal.
During the post-match briefing, Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri said that his players went through “a mental blackout” and apologised to the fans.
