South Africa get record win against Seychelles in Nations Cup qualifiers

South Africa’s football team, Bafana Bafana defeated Seychelles by six goals to nil in an African Nations Cup qualifiers in Johannesburg. This result became South Africa’s biggest win ever in a football match, overtaking the 5 – 0 win over Guatemala in 2010.

Scoring resumed through an own goal by a Seychelles defender, Nigel Nigel. Almost immediately the floodgates opened, with Bafana scoring two more before halftime through Hlatshwayo and striker Lebo Mothiba.

Percy Tau, Dino Ndlovu and Teboho Mokoena, on debut for Bafana, added to the three goals scored in the first half in the second stanza. Bafana has now managed seven points in three qualifiers so far.
