Nigerian star, Victor Moses retires from international football

Super Eagles of Nigeria superstar, Victor Moses has retired from international football at the age of 27. He had 37 caps and 12 goals since making his debut for the most populous black nation on earth in 2012.

In his statement, he said, “I’ve experienced some of the best moments of my life wearing the Super Eagles shirt and have memories with me that will last a lifetime. However, I feel that now is the right time to step away in order to be able to focus fully on my club career and young family, as well as to allow the next generation the opportunity to step up and flourish. Thank you for the memories and good luck to the team for the future.”

The Chelsea winger prior to playing for Nigeria in 2012 had represented England in the U17, U19 and U21 levels. Victor Moses won the African Cup of Nations with Nigeria in 2013 and represented Nigeria at the 2014 and 2018 FIFA World Cups.
