French striker, Alexandre Lacazette scored the joint-fastest goal on the opening day of the Premier League season by nodding home a cross from Hector Bellerin 94 seconds into the game against Leicester City. The Gunners’ record signing brought Arsenal fans to its feet when he slotted the ball past Kasper Schmeichel.

The 94′ seconds goal, brings him at par with former Arsenal player, Kevin Campbell, who scored against Manchester City at Highbury in 1994 and Colombian international, Faustino Asprilla scored against Sheffield Wednesday in the 1997-98 campaign while he was a player at Newcastle United.

Reminiscent of his goal-scoring prowess in the first game of top flight seasons in recent years, Lacazette now has seven goals in five on the opening day – a run that began with a brace in Lyon’s 4 – 0 win over Nice in 2013. In 2014, he scored on the opening day against Rennes. He was shackled by Lloriente in 2015 but returned with a bang in 2016 when he scored a hat-trick against Nancy. Lacazette is the seventh Arsenal player to score on his first Premier League appearance.
