Pep Guardiola eyes long-term future with Manchester City
Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola has reiterated he hopes to stay at the club for a long time and build a team that can deliver long term success. Man City has been one of the biggest spenders in the current transfer market spending about US$261.48 million so far. Last season was the first time Guardiola hasn’t won a trophy in his entire managerial career.
The Spaniard has changed the strategy at the club by offloading players like Aleksandar Kolarov, Bacary Sagna, Pablo Zabaleta and Gael Clichy and signing relatively younger players like full-back Benjamin Mendy, midfielder, Bernardo Silva, and goalkeeper Ederson. Guardiola also confirmed Mendy will be out for three weeks following a thigh sprain and could miss the season opener on August 12 at Brighton & Hove Albion.
