Facebook to livestream UCL to US audience

Social networking giant, Facebook will live-stream UEFA Champions League matches to American internet users in partnership with Fox Sports. The details of the partnership were unveiled recently by Fox Sports executives and it would include two group matches per day, four round of sixteen games and four quarter-finals for the upcoming 2017 – 2018 season.

Facebook would act as the host for the streams, while Fox Sports will be responsible for the images and contents. This service will only be available to Facebook users in the United States. Just last week, Facebook reached over two billion active users worldwide. Just recently, Facebook has been making its foray into sportscasting. It recently signed a major partnership with the Major League Soccer and Liga MX, the Mexican championship in which it webcast 40 games last season.
