Everton signs Belgian League top-scorer

Everton FC of England has signed Nigerian international, Henry Onyekuru on a five-year contract for an undisclosed amount. He’s the third arrival at Goodison Park this summer following the arrival of midfielder Davy Klaassen and goalkeeper Jordan Pickford who were signed from Ajax and Sunderland respectively. With this move, Henry is the sixth Nigerian to sign for Everton, following in the footsteps of Daniel Amokachi, Joseph Yobo, Victor Anichebe, Yakubu Aiyegbeni and Hope Akpan.

The 20-year old goal poacher was the co-highest goal scorer with in the Belgian league with 22 goals. He made his senior debut for Nigeria in June 2017 against Togo.Prior to then, he spent five years at Aspire Academy before joining Eupen. For the 2016/2017 season, Onyekuru will spend it at Anderlecht FC of Belgian champions, Anderlecht and would gain maximum exposures by playing in the UEFA Champions League.
